Open Position: Choral Section Leaders
General Description
SJB seeks section leaders and/or choral scholars for our growing choral program.
Professional-level singers should be capable of sight-reading a variety of chant, polyphony, and modern choral music. Weekly obligation includes a Thursday night rehearsal and one Sunday morning liturgy (10 am). Additional opportunities may be available throughout the year. Compensation commensurate with experience based on local market.
Less experienced singers showing basic musical aptitude and interest (e.g. no professional training but a good singing voice and experience in choirs) in growth may be hired as well as choral scholars.
In both cases, the ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who understands the importance of leadership in sacred liturgy and its integral connection with the wider life of the parish. All candidates should have a desire and interest in being part of our small, hospitable community (lunch available most Sundays during the year after Mass).
